Facebook has banned more than thousands apps. Do you know why?  Facebook has now taken a new step by banning more than a thousand apps in the Cambridge Analytics case. More than a thousand apps were banned in March 2018 as part of the agency's "data usage research" in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. This means that Facebook has taken such action, taking data theft and data leaks seriously.

Yes, the Cambridge Analytica case was raised loudly during the US election. Following the revelation of the Cambridge Analytics scandal, millions of people were outraged at how Facebook profile information was being used to influence opinions. The company has confirmed that Facebook is precautionarily blocking over a thousand apps to prevent such glitches from recurring.


The APIs used to connect to Facebook have been blocked and more specific policies have been set on Facebook. App developers are an important part of the Facebook ecosystem, "Facebook said." They help make our world more social and attractive. However, the agency said people should know that we protect privacy.


Facebook said in its blog post that hundreds of deleted apps were developed by just over 400 developers and tested by millions of people. The company said it was gathering information from hundreds of people, including lawyers, external researchers, data scientists, engineers, policy experts and Facebook-affiliated teams.


Commenting on the safety of its users, Facebook said, "As each month goes by, we fully integrate what we learn and developers can build using our platforms." ‘We have also improved the methods of researching and enforcing against potential policy violations.
